How to print coloring pages

If a page looks great on screen but awkward on paper, the problem is usually print settings, scaling, or paper size — and those are easy to fix.

Best print settings

  1. Choose PDF when you want the cleanest home print result.
  2. Use plain A4 or US Letter paper.
  3. Keep scale at 100% unless your printer suggests otherwise.
  4. Use portrait mode for most single-page coloring sheets.
  5. Print in black-and-white or grayscale to keep outlines crisp.

Quick troubleshooting

  • If the page is cut off, check paper size first.
  • If the lines look faint, try a higher quality print setting.
  • If the page looks too small, disable “fit to printable area” and test again.
  • If markers bleed through, use thicker paper or print one-sided only.

Good starter pages

When you want an easy win, start with bold outlines and simpler pages that don’t ask a child to color lots of tiny areas.
